They say it is the journey that matters-- not necessarily the goal. Danian’s began in Kingston, Jamaica where he was born in 1970. After his high school graduation, his parents decided to move their three children to the United States; a five year process which plumbed the depth of the family’s bond. The family prevailed and now considers the United States their home. When talking to Danian, you will often hear him say of visiting Jamaica, “now I come home rather than go home,” a reference to the fact that the U.S. is now where his heart is; yet Jamaica continues to be near and dear to him.
After arriving stateside, Danian did not waste time pursuing the American Dream. He earned a mechanical engineering degree from University of Detroit Mercy in 1994. This propelled him into a successful career as an engineer where he thrived for 14 years. However, compelled by a love for political discourse and a good debate, Danian decided to change course. His first stop was broadcasting. He got his feet wet in music radio, working in promotions and marketing at FM powerhouse WVMV Detroit. He eventually landed a gig hosting a late night jazz show on the HD2 Channel. Next he jumped over to the AM dial with a stint hosting a political talk show on WCHB AM Detroit. His conservative leanings made for interesting interactions with the station’s mostly liberal callers! Now a noted political blogger, you’ll find his unique insight on the popular website Political Agenda.net. He is also regularly featured on Right Michigan.com, which has been recognized nationally as the most influential conservative blog in Michigan. Although he has a definite way with words, Danian does more than talk the talk; he also serves on the board of The North Oakland Republican Club where he helps local conservatives get elected.
Danian’s perspective on current events will force you to take a second look. His approach to debate is to apply Christian graces with the idea that he could be wrong about this particular issue; although in all likelihood, his opponents will be the ones making concessions. |
